Abstract:
A system including an insertable probe (10) and method of use thereof for immobilizing a region of interest during staging and radiation therapy thereof. The probe in its preferred embodiment is for immobilizing the male prostate region during target localization using portal imaging and radiation therapy to treat prostate cancer and comprises an elongated shaft (14) supporting an inflatable balloon (16).
