Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an impact absorption member having a simple structure and capable of efficiently absorbing a high load during vehicle collision. The impact absorption member of the present invention comprises: a tubular member (20) disposed to receive an impact load in an axial direction and become crushed in the axial direction by the impact load; a wooden member (12) disposed in the tubular member (20) in a non-contact manner and having an impact load strength higher than that of the tubular member (20); and a foam member (30) capable of determining the position of the wooden member (12) relative to the tubular member (20) and filled by a partial or whole foaming method in a gap between an outer side of the wooden member (12) and an inner wall of the tubular member (20), wherein the impact absorption member is characterized in that the foam member (30) has a predetermined strength such that when the tubular member (20) and the wooden member (12) are crushed in the axial direction by an impact load, the foam member (30) does not prevent the tubular member (20) from transforming in radially inward directions.
