Abstract:
According to the present invention, when a side of a vehicle undergoes an impact, an impact load is transmitted to a first bracket (20) from a front end (18A) of an impact bar (18) while the impact bar (18) is deformed inward in a vehicle width direction. The first bracket (20) is deformed so as to extend inward in the vehicle width direction, and upon reaching a fully extended stage, a junction point between a first inner panel attachment portion (24) and a flange portion (1206) is broken by the impact load. Meanwhile, the impact load inputted to the impact bar (18) is also transmitted to a second bracket (22) from the front end (18A) of the impact bar (18). When the impact load is transmitted to the second bracket (22), a bending portion (52) is deformed so as to extend inward in the vehicle width direction. Therefore, the impact load inputted to a junction point between a second inner panel attachment portion (46) and a front wall portion (1204) is absorbed by the bending portion (52). Thus, breakage of the junction point between the second inner panel attachment portion (46) and the front wall portion (1204) is inhibited.
