Abstract:
A molded laminate which has excellent impact resistance and which, even upon reception of impact, is highly effective in inhibiting material scattering. The molded laminate is a molded laminate obtained by laminating a rigid composite constituted at least of a thermosetting resin and rigid reinforcing fibers with a flexible composite constituted at least of a resin and flexible reinforcing fibers. The flexible reinforcing fibers comprise fibers of a thermotropic liquid-crystal polymer, and the flexible composite includes a fabric formed from the flexible reinforcing fibers. The fibers of a thermotropic liquid-crystal polymer may be multifilament yarns each having a single-filament fineness of about 1-15 dtex and a total fineness of about 100-3,000 dtex.
