Provided is an impact tool that can efficiently carry out grass cutting operations by imparting an impact force to a blade edge using an impact mechanism. A protrusion for impact is provided on the outer peripheral part of a rotating hammer (34) that is rotated by a motor (3), and impact force is transmitted to a blade holder (70) positioned on the front side of an impact rod (51) by this protrusion impacting the back end of the impact rod (51). When force pressing from the blade (90) side is not acting, the blade holder (70) is not in contact with the protrusion of the rotating hammer (34), and when outside force pressing from the blade holder (70) is acting, a rod spring (43) included in an impact mechanism (30) is compressed and the protrusion of the rotating hammer (34) impacts the impact rod (51). Thus, grass and the like are cut by the blade edge of the blade (90) by repeated impact on the impact rod (51).
