Abstract:
The present invention relates to an improved method for purifying a sulfonated aromatic monomer. The method for purifying a sulfonated aromatic monomer is an economical method which is capable of obtaining the sulfonated aromatic monomer with high purity by maintaining a reaction condition of a conventional sulfonated aromatic monomer, simplifying a salt extraction step and a recrystallization step and substituting chemical materials used for purification for stable materials which can be easily purchased. The sulfonated aromatic monomer obtained by the purification method can be useful for manufacturing polymers for polymer electrolyte membranes and for securing the amount of polymers when polymers are synthesized using the monomer.
