Description:
IMPROVED MONOBLOCK E-27 LAMPHOLDER

Field of the Invention The present invention relates to the building up/wiring of Table Lamps/Pendant/Floor Lamps with an improved E-27 Lampholder made in Monoblock form wherein the Dome and the outer shell are combined in single moulded design which lend itself to be wired in quick, easy, convenient and cost-effective way of the Table, Pendant Lamps etc, thus saving in time of assembly and savings in manufacturing & assembly costs and also by way of less inventory and other associated costs.

Description of the Related Art Generally the conventional lamps with E-27 lampholders are from three piece design of lampholder either in metallic or non-metallic materials. In these conventional lampholders the inner part (Insert), holding the current carrying contacts is placed in a dome after wiring. Thereafter the Shell, the part holding the lamp/bulb is screwed on the do*me till it rests on the dome. After screwing the Shell it is locked to prevent rotation in anti-clockwise direction while removing or replacing the bulb. This method of assembly/dis-assembly of the lampholder is time consuming exercise and hence not cost-effective.

Summary of the invention To solve the above-described problems, it is an objective of the present invention to make the present invention more advantageous and technically sound than the conventional lamp with E-27 lampholders. The lamps with E-27 landholders can be moulded in both thermoplastic or thermosetting materials wherein the novel inventions include a compact two piece design wherein the Dome and the outer Shell are combined in a single moulded design in Monoblock form. The improved E-27 landholders can have full or half outward shade ring screw or plain outside body. The Insert can be either made up of Bakelite/plastic or from any ceramic material and can be screwless or with screws. In the assembly/wiring operation, the Insert holding the current carrying contacts, is simply pushed through the top opening of the lampholder and the Insert gets locked when rested on the bottom seat of the lampholder. The present Invention of the Monoblock form of E-27 Lampholder is to provide the users quick, convenient and cost-effective way of building up Table/ Pendant Lamps /Floor Lamps etc. compared to the present practices of doing so.

Brief Description of the Drawings:

The above objective and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail preferred embodiments thereof with reference to the attached drawings in which reference numerals indicate corresponding parts in the figure. The invention is illustrated with the diagrams as follows Fig. 1 shows construction of the Insert with screws, holding the current carrying contacts. Fig. 2 shows construction of the screwless Insert, holding the current carrying contacts. Fig. 3 shows live and neutral terminal of the screwless Insert. Fig. 4 shows the construction of the shade ring. Fig. 5 shows the construction of the moulded Monoblock form of E-27 lampholder. Fig. 6 shows the internal features of the moulded Monoblock form of E-27 lampholder.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Now, an improved E-27 lampholder is a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and according to the method will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

Referring to FIG. 1, an insert unit according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is comprised of: Locking strip (13) with hole (14), Insert lug (12), live terminal (15), neutral terminal (16) In FIG. 1, live (15) and neutral terminal (16) are used for wiring in insert. Wires will be pushed simply in screwless insert or attached to the terminal with screws in screwed insert. Insert lug (12) will align the insert with visible inside slot of lampholder body. The inbuilt locking strip (13) of the Insert rides over the entry slope and gets pushed inward. Locking strip (13) gets locked thus preventing the unwanted axial movement of the Insert. The Insert Lug (12) along with the Locking strip prevents the rotational movement of the Insert. For removing the Insert the Locking strip (13) can be withdrawn from it's locking position by inserting a pointed pin in the hole (14) provided on the Locking strip (13). On withdrawl of the Locking strip (13), the Insert can be taken out by pushing it from the bottom of the Lampholder Body. Insert can attached to lampholder body through screws or through locking strip.

Referring to FIG. 4, the Shade Ring (24) facilitates fixing of Lampshades in Table lamps/Pendants Lamps use.

Referring to FIG. 5, the Outer threads (17) facilitates fixing of Lampsheds in Table lamps/Pendants Lamps use alongwith shade ring

Referring to FIG. 6, the lamp body according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is comprised of: Entry slope (19), Inside slot (20), Bottom slot (21), Screw (22), Bottom seat (23). In FIG. 6, Insert lug (12) is aligned with the visible inside slot (20) of the lampholder Body (18) and pushed inside. The inbuilt locking strip (13) of the Insert rides over the entry slope (19) and gets pushed inward. When the Insert stops at the bottom seat (23) of the Lampholder Body, the locking strip moves forward in the open space of the bottom slot (21) of the Lampholder Body and in the process gets locked underneath the bottom of the top slot (20), thus preventing the unwanted axial movement of the Insert. The Insert Lug (12) housed in the Lampholder Body slot (21) along with the Locking strip prevents the rotational movement of the Insert. The Entry Nut with screw (22) riveted at the bottom of the Lampholder Body facilitates locking the lampholder on the nipple of the lampbase to prevent anti-rotation of the lampholder. The lock nut screw can be operated through the lampholder Body slots without difficulty. As described above, the improved monoblock E-27 lampholder according to the present invention has the following effects.

First, since the Dome and the outer shell are combined in single moulded design and, accordingly, wiring is quick, easy and convenient. Second, it is a cost-effective way of making Table, Pendant Lamps etc, as it saves time of assembly and savings in manufacturing & assembly costs and also by way of less inventory and other associated costs. While this invention has been particularly shown and described with reference to preferred embodiments thereof, it will be understood by those skilled in the art that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
