Description:
"IMPROVED PAPER ROLL HOLDER DEVICE" The present invention relates to an improved roll holder device, and particularly to a holder device for a roll of kitchen paper or paper for various uses, which can be laid on a table or applied to a wall.

Roll holder devices are already known, generally formed of three members mutually joined for instance by means of hinges and arranged like three sides of a rectangle. The two lateral members are generally provided with two supports suitable for being inserted into the cardboard or plastic core of the paper roll, so as to sustain it.

Object of the present invention is providing a roll holder device which can be used with paper rolls having variable size, that is, with the various paper rolls available on the market, which have different widths and core diameters. Said object is achieved by means of a roll holder device whose main features are specified in the first claim and other features are specified in the following claims.

By virtue of the particular feature of the roll holder device, which is formed of a central member and two lateral members whose position of fastening to the central member can be adjusted, the roll holder device according to the present invention can be advantageously used with paper rolls having various widths.

According to a particular aspect of the invention, the size of the supports of the paper roll, which are applied to said lateral members, can be adjusted so as to be fitted to the core of the paper roll which is going to be used.

According to a particular aspect of the invention, the roll holder device is provided with a clip which allows the application of the device to a wall.

Further advantages and features of the roll holder device according to the present invention will appear to those skilled in the art from the following detailed description of one embodiment thereof, with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein: -figure 1 shows a frontal view of the central member according to said embodiment of the roll holder device; -figure 2 shows a cross-sectional view taken along line 11-11 of figure 1;

-figure 3 shows a perspective view of one of the lateral members according to said embodiment; -figure 4 shows a back view of the clip according to said embodiment; -figure 5 shows a cross-sectional view talcen along line V-V of figure 4; and -figure 6 shows a perspective view of the complete roll holder device according to said embodiment of the present invention.

With reference lo figure 1, there is shown that the flexible central member 1 of the roll holder device according to the present embodiment of the invention has a substantially rectangular shape with rounded corner, and is provided with a multiplicity of slits 2, for instance two or three, which are transversally arranged with respect to the two longitudinal ends of central member 1. As it will appear in the following, said transversal slits 2 are intended to receive a corresponding tongue which is provided on the lateral members of the present embodiment of the roll holder device.

As shown in figure 2, flexible central member 1 has a substantially curvilinear profile in the resting position. This figure also shows that slits 2 are preferably shaped so as to bc complementary to the tongues which are inserted thereinto. Said tongues are indicated with the number 3 in figure 3.

Now, with reference to figure 3, there is shown that each one of lateral members 4 is formed of an elbow-shaped member 5 provided, at one end thereof, with the above mentioned tongue 3, which is rigid and arc-shaped. Further, two teeth 6 are shown in thé clrawing, function will be explained with reference to figure 7. At the other end of elbow-shaped member 5 there is also provided a portion 7 for lateral containment of the roll, which is substantially perpendicular to central member 1. Portion 7 shown in the drawing by way of an example has a round shape, but it couic have any other shape. A small cylinder 8, suitable for being inserted in a known way into the core of a paper roll so as to sustain said roll, is fixed on the surface of said portion 7 which is turned towards the inside of the device. In a particular embodiment, said cylinder 8 can be substituted with other cylinders having different diameters, so that the user can choose from time

to time the one which is more suitable as a function of the paper roll which has to be used. In another embodiment of the present invention, adapter rings are provided, which can be applied to cylinder 8 so as to increase the diameter thereof until it reaches the intemal diameter of the roll core.

Now, with reference to figure 4, there is shown that clip 9, which fonns the portion of the device which is suitable to be fastened to a wall, is substantially formed of two plates 10 and 11 facing each other. The back plate 10, which is shown in the foreground in the drawing, is provided with a multiplicity of holes 12 suitable for being passed through by fastening screws. Alternatively, plate 10 can be glued to the wall itself.

Figure 5 shows that ptates 10 and 11 are elastically connecte at the bottom thereof, and that front plate l l has a slightly angular profile, so that the contact between the two plates occurs only along one line.

As it is apparent from figure G, in order to assemble the roll holder device, central member 1 is inserted between plates 10 and 11 by making use of the elasticity of their connection, and thus it is fixed to clip 9. Tongues 3 of lateral members 4 are inserted into slits 2 and subsequently brought into contact with central member 1. Teeth 6, which for instance can be part of a snapping shut device, are introduced inside suitable fissures (not shown) formed on the back surface of central member 1. In this way, lateral members 4 are fixed to central member 1 even if they are not pressed against the latter by means of a paper roll.

The number and the mutual distances between slits 2 at the two ends of central member 1 are defined as a function of the various lengths of the paper rolls which are available on the market.

Any known material which is considered suitable for the construction of devices of the traditional type can be used for the construction of the roll holder device according to the present invention.
