Abstract:

The present invention pertains to the production of foamed materials and relates to a method, a conveyor line and a mixture of raw materials for the production of said foamed materials. The present invention more precisely relates to the implementation of such methods using a conveyor line and a raw material mixture which, in a combined embodiment, may be used to shorten the manufacturing process of the end product. These methods may also be used to improve the quality of said product, to lower the manufacturing cost and to reduce the amount of waste. Before being submitted to a convection drying process, a mass of foam is previously dehydrated under vacuum by discharging a 100 to 150 mm air flow during 30 to 120 seconds until the moisture content of said mass reaches 600 to 700 %. To this end, a vacuum generating device is mounted in front of the drying ovens and below the conveyor. This invention may be used to reduce the production time of foamed materials and to improve the quality of end products while reducing the amount of waste and the production cost.
