Abstract:
An impulse cycle engine, comprising an accelerating means (10) for accelerating a particle beam to a high sub-light speed state. After being accelerated in the accelerating means (10) to obtain high speed kinetic energy and additional mass, the particle beam is ejected from a nozzle to propel the advancement of an aircraft. According to the pulsed impulse cycle engine, particles are accelerated to a high sub-light speed to obtain great impulse to propel an aircraft. Different from chemical specific impulse propulsion, there is no need to carry a huge disposable working medium, and thus the impulse cycle engine is applicable to remote driving.
