Abstract:
An in-line fuel pump plunger for a diesel engine includes a plunger body (1), an axial fuel drain groove (2) arranged in the lateral part of the plunger body (1), and a helical and/or slantwise cut fuel return groove (3) communicated with the fuel drain groove (2) and arranged in the side wall of the plunger body (1), wherein the top part of the plunger body (1) on one side of the fuel return groove (3) is provided with a fuel supply chute (4) adjacent to the fuel drain groove (2), and the fuel supply chute (4) has an opposite inclination direction to that of the fuel return groove (3) and leads to the top part of the plunger body (1). The fuel pump plunger avoids the delayed combustion of fuel when the diesel engine works at full load and reduces the fuel supply advanced angle when the diesel engine works at partial load, so as to reduce the contents of nitric monoxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and black smoke in the exhaust emission of the engine, decrease the emission temperature, ensure full combustion in the engine, and reduce the production cost.
