This in-vehicle assistance device (2) is installed in a vehicle (20), and by wirelessly communicating with a facility-side device (3) that transmits assistance information that is useful to a user, receives said assistance information from the facility-side device. Said in-vehicle assistance device (2) is provided with the following: a facility-ID reception unit (22a, S130) that receives, from the facility-side device, a facility ID for identifying the facility (30) in which the facility-side device is set up; an area-information acquisition unit (22a, S120, S150) that acquires area information based on the location of the facility; a location-information acquisition unit (22a, S140) that acquires location information for the vehicle; a determination unit (22a, S160 through S180) that determines, on the basis of the area information for the facility corresponding to the received facility ID and the location information for the vehicle, whether or not the facility ID is legitimate; and a user-ID transmission unit (22a, S190) that transmits an assistance-information transmission request to the facility-side device if the facility ID is legitimate, said assistance-information transmission request consisting of a user ID for identifying the user.
