Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle control device that makes it possible for a vehicle to independently detect an on-rail state in a ground facility without installing a new ground facility by receiving information from a ground coil and comparing the received information with the database on the vehicle and a travel distance.
A comparison device 14 compares distance information 103 with distance information 101, said distance information 103 being obtained by a travel distance calculation device and information 100 received from a ground coil by a transmitting and receiving unit 11 mounted on a vehicle 1, said distance information 101 being pre-stored into a database 12. When the comparison result shows that the value of the distance information 101 becomes smaller than that of the distance information 103, a vehicle control device 15 recognizes the regional boundary 2 of a ground system and an in-vehicle device independently determines that the vehicle is on rails either in a region A or in a region B.
