Abstract:
Provided is an in-vehicle device mounted in a vehicle, the in-vehicle device comprising: a memory which stores first software for providing first information to a user; a determination unit which determines whether or not software to be executed is to be switched from the first software to second software on the basis of state information on the state of the vehicle, the second software providing second information more detailed than the first information; a request unit which makes a request to an external device installed outside the vehicle for downloading the second software when the determination unit determines that the software to be executed is to be switched from the first software to the second software; and a switching unit which installs the second software downloaded from the external device into the memory and switches the software to be executed from the first software to the second software.
