Abstract:
Provided are an in-vehicle updating device, an in-vehicle updating system, an updating processing method, and an updating processing program, which are expected to limit the effects from increasing the communication load, and to reduce the time until the transmission of update data is completed. An in-vehicle updating device according to the present embodiment performs processing for updating a program or data which are stored in a storage unit of an in-vehicle device installed in a vehicle, said in-vehicle updating device comprising: a communication unit which communicates via a communication line to which the in-vehicle device is connected; a storage unit which stores history information regarding the transmission/reception timing of the data transmitted/received via the communication line; an estimation processing unit which estimates, on the basis of the history information stored in the storage unit, an unused period when data will not be transmitted/received by the communication line; and an updating processing unit which uses the communication unit to transmit, to the in-vehicle device, data for updating the in-vehicle device during the unused period estimated by the estimation processing unit.
