Abstract:
An in-wheel motor drive device (11) is provided with a motor (3), a speed reducing gear mechanism (20) for transmitting the rotation of the motor (3), a speed reducing planetary gear (40) for further reducing the rotational speed of the speed reducing gear mechanism (20), and an output shaft (50) for outputting the rotation of the speed reducing planetary gear (40), which has been reduced in speed, to a wheel (100). The speed reducing planetary gear (40) and the output shaft (50) are disposed on a first axis (AX1), the motor (3) is disposed on a second axis (AX2) parallel to the first axis (AX1), and the motor (3) and the speed reducing planetary gear (40) are positioned on a radial cross-section orthogonal to the first axis (AX1) and the second axis (AX2). The configuration prevents the in-wheel motor drive device (11) from interfering with a suspension device and a brake device, and as a result, the in-wheel motor drive device (11) can be more easily mounted on a vehicle.
