A speed reduction section of this in-wheel motor drive device includes: an output shaft (38) which is joined to the rotating ring (12) of a wheel hub bearing section (11); an output gear (37) which is a helical gear provided coaxially with the output shaft; an intermediate gear (36) which is a helical gear meshing with the output gear; and a rolling bearing (38a) which is positioned further toward one axial side than the output gear and which rotatably supports the output shaft. An axial load (Fa) acting on the meshing portion (71) of the output gear while a wheel is being driven acts in a direction toward the one axial side, and at least some of the rolling bodies (73) of the rolling bearing (38a) are arranged in a region (72) extending in a direction in which the resultant (R) of the axial load (Fa), which acts from one axial end to the other axial end of the meshing section (71) of the output gear, and a radial load (Fr) acts.
