Abstract:
Provided is an in-wheel motor driving device such that assemblability and disassemblability are improved, and that the radial size of a bearing is restricted, resulting in weight reduction. The in-wheel motor driving device is such that a wheel bearing device (1), a speed reducer (3), and a motor are disposed coaxially with the central axis of a wheel. A connecting section (27) is integrally provided at the end of a small diameter step section (21b) of a hub wheel (21) in such a way as to protrude from said end. An annular groove (34) is formed between this connecting section (27) and the small diameter step section (21b). A snap ring (35) is mounted in this annular groove (34). In this respect, this snap ring (35) is made of a steel plate by being pressed into an approximately L-shaped form in terms of the cross section. By swaging the corner of this snap ring (35), an inner race (22) is fixed to the small diameter step section (21b) in a state where a predetermined bearing preload is applied. A serration (27a) is formed on the outer circumference of the connecting section (27). An output member (13) of the speed reducer (3) is connected to the connecting section (27) with this serration (27a) therebetween.
