Title:
IN-WHEEL MOTOR SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/020236
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An in-wheel motor system, wherein the rotating side case (3b) of an in-wheel motor (3) is connected to a wheel (2) through a flexible coupling (10) having a plurality of hollow disk plates (11A to 11C) and direct-acting guides (12A, 12B), and the non-rotating side case (3a) of the motor (3) is connected to the lower part of a vehicle spring through a damping mechanism (20) having two plates (26, 27) connected to each other through first spring elements (22) and a damper (25) with a spring element disposed parallel with the first spring elements (22) and formed of a damper (23) and a second spring element (24) connected in series to each other and connecting the non-rotating side case (3a) of the motor to the knuckle (5) as the frame dress-up part of a vehicle, whereby the drive force of the in-wheel motor (3) can be surely transmitted to the wheel (2) and the road holding performance of the vehicle can be increased by remarkably reducing a variation in ground-contact load of a tire.
