Abstract:
Provided are an incandescent light bulb which has sufficiently high brightness and produces a good light distribution on a surface irradiated by the light, and a light source device having high usage efficiency of the light radiated from the incandescent light bulb. The incandescent light bulb is provided with a filament formed by arranging a plurality of filament segments which are composed of one wire wound into single coil, oriented so as to extend along the axial direction of the bulb, and arranged in parallel within the same plane. The pitch width of the filament segments arranged in the center portion of the bulb is smaller than the pitch width of the filament segments arranged on both sides. The light source device is composed of an incandescent light bulb and a light collecting mirror. The incandescent light bulb is arranged so that the two filament segments positioned at the center of the bulb sandwich the center axis of the light collecting mirror and are oriented to extend along the center axis of the light collecting mirror.
