Abstract:
Disclosed in the present invention is an InDel marker for simultaneously identifying cotton cytoplasmic male sterility restoring genes Rfl and Rf2. The InDel marker is not only linked to the G. harknessii Brandegee cytoplasmic male sterility restoring gene Rfl, but also to the G.trilobum Skovsted cytoplasmic male sterility restoring gene Rf2. The insertion/deletion length polymorphisms of the nucleotide sequence are presented on an agarose gel electropherogram to identify whether a single cotton plant contains a restoring gene and to determine the type of the restoring gene contained. The InDel Marker is amplified from primers as shown in SEQ ID NOs. 1 and 2. The InDel Marker plays an important role in the selection of new restoring line materials of cotton having different restoring genes (Rf1/Rf2) and guarantees the purity of three-line hybrid seeds. The InDel marker can identify two groups of different restoring genes types of cytoplasmic male sterility of cotton, and has a wider application range and better practicability.
