Abstract:
An ambulatory assistance system that facilitates independent sit to stand exercise for use in homes and therapy centers that can have a minimal structural impact. The optional parallel bars can be hinged allowing movement relative to horizontal. The parallel bars can be secured in a horizontal position and the optional securing mechanism can be remotely released. The support frame system at least partially surrounds the individual and allows the individual to turn up to 360 while in the support frame system. In some embodiments, the support frame system includes one or more wheels, casters, leveling casters, or other structures configured to facilitate easier movement of the system from one location to another.
