Abstract:
The present invention provides: an indicator for an absorbent article that does not readily dissolve in moisture such as urine or dampness, said indicator enabling any change in the urine specific gravity to be accurately sensed; and an absorbent article including the indicator. This indicator for an absorbent article is characterized in: being adjusted to an alkali-side outward color in an initial state that precedes contact with urine; being capable of changing color, upon coming into contact with urine, to a color corresponding to the urine specific gravity; and containing a pH indicator, 20 mass% or more of a fatty alcohol that is solid at room temperature, and 10 mass% or more of a hydrophilic polymer and/or 10 mass% or more of an amine-based cationic surfactant.
