Abstract:

In order to minimize the setup times in the case of an indirect extrusion press in which a shell (15) of residual material is formed during the extrusion, having a tool head which comprises a die (19) and is arranged on an indirect punch (2), the tool head (5) is formed such that, after a shearing ring (20) that has a shearing edge, it tapers in the direction of the ejection plane. The invention also relates to other indirect extrusion presses and to methods for indirect extrusion.
