Abstract:
An indirectly heated cathode (C1) for a gas discharge tube comprises a heater (1), a coiled-coil (2), a plate-like member (3), and a metal oxide (10). An electric insulating layer (4) is formed on the surface of the heater (1). The heater (1) is disposed inside the coiled-coil (2). The plate-like member (3) is extended inside the coiled-coil (2) serving as a discharge surface along the length of the coiled-coil (2) and is electrically connected to the coiled-coil (2). The plate-like member (3) is connected to the terminal, on the grounded side, of the heater (1) and thereby grounded. The metal oxide (10b) is held by the coiled-coil (2) and is in contact with the plate-like member (3). The metal oxide (10) is in contact with the mesh-like member (3).
