Abstract:
The present invention provides an indium ball having high fluidity without aggregation, wherein at least one organic polar solvent selected from the group consisting of an alcohol, ether, a ketone other than β-diketone, carboxylate, cellosolve, nitrile, sulfoxide, and amide is coordinated to indium on the surface of the ball to thereby form a complex with indium. This indium ball can be manufactured by a cooling droplet of molten indium to granulate an indium ball, collecting the granulated indium ball in a container containing the organic polar solvent to immerse the indium ball in the solvent, and separating and recovering the collected indium ball from the organic polar solvent. An indium ball can be worked into an octahedral shape by subjecting the immersed indium ball to an ultrasonic treatment.
