Abstract:
The invention relates to a security element (2) for a data carrier (1) comprising a translucent carrier substrate (3) having a front-side layer (4) and a rear-side layer (5) applied in fragmented fashion with application regions and cutouts, wherein at least one application region of the front-side layer or one application region of the rear-side layer is arranged at each location, furthermore comprising a motif (6) produced by irradiation, said motif having increased transmission and extending over a cutout and an application region in the front-side layer and/or the rear-side layer.
