Abstract:
An indoor unit (100) of an air conditioner having a purifying function and a control method thereof. The indoor unit (100) of an air conditioner is provided with a driving device (140) and a purifying component (150). The purifying component (150) is driven by the driving device (140) to move in or move out of a purification position shielding an air outlet (102) of the indoor unit (100). The control method comprises: detecting an air pollution parameter of a working environment of an indoor unit of an air conditioner (S702); if the air pollution parameter exceeds a predetermined purification-activated threshold, controlling the driving device to move the purifying component to the purification position (S704); and if the duration for which the purifying component performs purification exceeds a set time and the air pollution parameter shows no improvement, controlling the driving device to move the purifying component from the purification position to a replacement position external to the indoor unit of the air conditioner (S706).
