Abstract:
Provided is an indoor unit of an air conditioner such that condensation on a front panel is minimized without causing deterioration in designability. This indoor unit of an air conditioner is equipped with: a housing, the back of which is installed on an indoor wall; a suction port which is provided to the housing; a blowout port which is opened in the lower surface of the housing; a heat exchanger and an air blower which are arranged in the air flow path between the suction port and the blowout port; a vertical wind direction plate which is disposed in the blowout and turnably supported, and covers the blowout port when the air conditioner is stopped, the vertical wind direction plate being turned and angularly adjusted in order to control the vertical direction of the airflow blowing out from the blowout port when the air conditioner is in operation; an auxiliary wind direction plate which is disposed along the longitudinal direction of the blowout port; and a rotary shaft which is disposed within the blowout port toward the front of the housing, and turns the auxiliary wind direction plate in the front-rear direction of the housing. When the air conditioner is stopped, the auxiliary wind direction plate is located within the blowout port above the vertical wind direction plate, and the leading end of the auxiliary wind direction plate, which is the end on the opposite side from the end fixed to the rotary shaft, is located further toward the rear than the rotary shaft. When the air conditioner is in operation, the auxiliary wind direction plate is turned from the rear to the front of the housing so that the leading end thereof protrudes outwardly of the housing from the blowout port.
