An indoor unit for an air-conditioner, the indoor unit being provided with: a box-shaped casing having an inlet on the upper surface and an outlet on the lower surface; a blower provided in the casing, the blower taking in indoor air from the inlet and blowing out air-conditioned air from the outlet; a heat exchanger provided in the casing, the heat exchanger exchanging heat between a refrigerant and the indoor air to produce the air-conditioned air; and a vertical airflow direction plate, a first vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate, and a second vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate, which change the vertical airflow direction and which are rotatably provided to the outlet. During a cooling operation, the first vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate is located on the front surface side of the casing and the downstream-side end part of the first vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate is located lower than the lower surface of the casing, and the second vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate is located lower than the first vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate and the upstream-side end part of the second vertical auxiliary airflow direction plate is located higher than the vertical airflow direction plate.
