Abstract:
A purpose of the present invention is to mitigate an increase in size of an indoor unit of an air conditioner provided with a medium efficiency air filter. In the present invention, indoor fans (32, 33) generate an airflow of conditioned air blown into a room. A medium efficiency air filter (35) is disposed downstream of the indoor fans (32, 33). A casing (40) has a blade housing chamber (RM2) that houses blades (32a, 33a) of the indoor fans (32, 33), and a filter housing chamber (RM3) that houses the medium efficiency air filter (35). The casing (40) is configured such that a first cross-sectional area of the filter housing chamber (RM3) is greater than a second cross-sectional area of a vent opening (52) of the blade housing chamber (RM2), such first cross-sectional area being, within a installation position (Pi1) of the medium efficiency air filter (35), the maximum cross-section of an airflow passage taken perpendicular to the direction of the airflow passage.
