An indoor unit (1A) of an air conditioner is provided with: a casing (10) having inlet ports (11) formed in the upper portion thereof and having an outlet port (12) on the front surface side of the lower portion thereof; axial flow type or diagonal flow type fans (20) which are provided below the inlet ports (11) in the casing (10) and which send air toward the outlet port (12) side; heat exchangers (30) which are provided below the fans (20) in the casing (10) and which exchange heat with the air sent to the fans (20); and a vertical vane (40) which is provided to the outlet port (12) and the direction of the plate surface of which is changed to change the air current direction of the air resulting from heat exchange at the heat exchangers (30). The outlet ports (12) are each formed into a shape the longitudinal direction of which extends in the horizontal direction. The vertical vane (40) includes long blade portions (41) which are long in the air current direction of air resulting from heat exchange at the heat exchangers (30), and short blade portions (42) which are disposed so as to be adjacent to the long blade portions (41) in the longitudinal direction and which are shorter, in the air current direction, than the long blade portions (41).
