The present invention addresses the problem of providing an indoor unit that makes it possible for a fan to be easily detached and cleaned, even by a user of an air conditioner who lacks knowledge or skills pertaining to air conditioners.　In order for a fan (13) to be put into or withdrawn from an indoor unit side surface on the side, of the indoor unit of the air conditioner according to the present invention, opposite to a motor (17): a first through hole (10) is provided to a support member (6) of the fan on the side opposite to the motor (17); a cap (3) for supporting and detachably fixing a fan shaft (7) is provided; a receiving base (30) of a blowoff opening for guiding through the fan, and a motor-side receiving base (18) are provided; and a shaft guidance unit (27) for guiding a motor-side bearing (24) to a shaft (15) of the motor is provided. Moreover, the location of the fan during fan detachment is made to be easily controlled and the detaching of the fan is facilitated as a result of using: a method for providing a fan unit in which a cap and a fan have been joined and integrated so as to freely rotate on the fan shaft; or a method for enabling separation of the cap and the fan and providing a cap-side shaft guidance unit (26) and a receiving base (29).
