Abstract:
Provided is an indoor unit for air conditioners that has an easy-to-assemble configuration that does not require an increase in the number of components and whereby two vertical air-direction plates do not enter a non-rotatable state. This indoor unit for air conditioners comprises: a case having the rear surface side thereof attached to an interior wall; an inlet and an outlet provided in the case; an indoor heat exchanger and an indoor blower that are arranged in an air passage extending from the inlet to the outlet; vertical air-direction plates arranged rotatably in the outlet, forming an outlet flowpath for outlet air discharged from the outlet, in the lower section of the outlet, and vertically changing the direction of outlet air; and auxiliary vertical air-direction plates that rotate to be positioned further on the front surface side of the case than the vertical air-direction plates, form an outlet flowpath at a position protruding downwards from the lower end of the outlet, and vertically change the direction of the outlet air. The rotation trajectory of the tips of the vertical air-direction plates intersect the trajectory of the auxiliary vertical air-direction plates. The vertical air-direction plates have a ridge section having a curved surface having a radius R, at the tips thereof. The auxiliary vertical air-direction plates have a protruding section that protrudes by a protrusion amount P, on a surface thereof that can come in contact with the tip of the vertical air-direction plates. The protrusion amount P of the protrusion sections is less than the radius R.
