Abstract:
Provided is an indoor unit which occupies a reduced mounting area and which can maintain air blowing efficiency. An indoor unit is provided with: a body having an intake opening which is provided in the upper surface thereof and also having a discharge opening which is provided in the lower surface thereof; a fan accommodated within the body and forming an air passage leading from the intake opening toward the discharge opening; a fan casing for accommodating the fan; and a heat exchanger provided in the air passage. The fan casing is a box-shaped casing and is provided with: an air inlet opening formed in the upper surface thereof; an air outlet opening formed in the lower surface thereof; an opening formed in a side surface thereof; and a removable closure plate for closing the opening.
