Abstract:
An induction cooking appliance includes: an annular main heating coil (MC); flat-shaped first and second subsidiary heating coils (SC1, SC2) close to both sides of the main heating coil (MC); inverter circuits (MIV, SIV1, SIV2) which drive all the heating coils; a power distribution control circuit (200) which controls the inverter circuits; and an operation unit (E). A selection switch (350) and selection units (E1, E2) are provided on the operation unit (E). With the selection switch (350), a control can be selected for performing multiple iterations of an operation wherein the second subsidiary heating coil (SC2) is driven while the driving of the first subsidiary heating coil (SC1) is at rest, and an operation wherein the driving of the second subsidiary heating coil (SC2) is then stopped and the first subsidiary coil (SC1) is driven. With the selection units (E1, E2), the directions of current flowing through the heating coils are controlled, and a cooking menu which places importance on heating speed or a cooking menu which places importance on the uniformity of heating can be selected.
