Abstract:
A multi-coil induction heating device wherein: a drive unit (4) supplies a first detection current, being a high-frequency power, to a plurality of heating coils (3) provided below a top plate upon which a load is placed; and a control unit (50) determines whether or not a load is placed above the plurality of heating coils (3), on the basis of an electric signal in response to the first detection current.
If the control unit (50) has determined that a load is not placed above the plurality of heating coils (3), the drive unit (4) supplies a second detection current, being a high-frequency power and having a larger current value than the first detection current, to the plurality of heating coils (3). The control unit (50) determines whether or not a load is placed above the plurality of heating coils (3), on the basis of an electric signal in response to the second detection current. As a result, energy-saving and accurate load detection is possible in a short time in a multi-coil induction heating device.
