In the present invention, an induction heating device (101) is provided with a rotor (11) having a rotary shaft and a stator (12) having a heater (13) that is disposed apart from the rotor (11). The rotor (11) is provided with a coil (15) which generates magnetic flux in the direction of the heater (13). The heater (13) is formed from a composite material comprising a magnetic material and a conductive material, and has a structure in which a magnetic material part (131) and a conductive material part (132) are combined. When the coil (15) is in a position opposing the heater (13), the cross-sectional area of the magnetic material part (131) in the heater (13) is smaller than the interlinkage area of magnetic flux generated by the coil, and the conductive material part (132) is disposed so as to surround the periphery of the magnetic material part (131). The heater (13) is provided with a flow passage (14) through which a heat medium flows.
