Abstract:
An induction heating element made of glassy carbon and exhibiting excellent heating efficiency, and a heating device. The induction heating element made of glassy carbon and generating heat through electromagnetic induction has such infrared radiation characteristics that the ratio (E1/E2) of infrared radiation intensity (E1) of a surface opposing an article being heated to infrared radiation intensity (E2) of a surface not opposing the article being heated exceeds 1.2. The heating device comprises the induction heating element made of glassy carbon, and a high frequency induction coil arranged on the outer side of the induction heating element made of glassy carbon and causing induction heating thereof, wherein the article being heated is heated with infrared rays being radiated from the induction heating element made of glassy carbon when the high frequency induction coil is energized.
