Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to improve inductor coil characteristics, and reduce variation in said inductor coil characteristics, in an inductor component in which an inductor is provided in a resin layer. This inductor component (1a) is provided with: a first resin layer (2a) having cavities (6a) provided therein; and an inductor (3) provided with two metal pins (4) disposed upright in the first resin layer (2a), and a connecting conductor (5) which connects one end of each of the two metal pins (4). At least a portion of each of the cavities (6a) is disposed in a pin facing area (R) which is between the two metal pins (4) in a planar view, and which is overlapped by the two metal pins (4) in a side view. As a result of this configuration, a portion of the inductor (3) is formed by the metal pins (4) which have a low specific resistance, and little variation in specific resistance, and thus an inductor (3) can be formed which exhibits excellent coil characteristics, and little variation in coil characteristics. Furthermore, resin-free areas are formed between the metal pins (4), and thus the parasitic capacitance generated between the two metal pins (4) can be reduced.
