Abstract:
A patient care apparatus (10) comprises a portable patient support module (12, 112, 212) having a first mattress (20), a first platform (18, 118, 218) carrying the first mattress (20), and a first canopy (22, 222) positioned on the first platform (18, 118, 218) to enclose an infant positioned on the first mattress (20) in a first isolation chamber (24). The portable patient support module (12, 112, 212) is configured to be carried by hand when the infant is positioned on the first mattress (20). The patient care apparatus (10) further comprises a second patient support module (14) having a second mattress (35), a second platform (19) carrying the second mattress (35), and a second canopy (40) positioned on the second platform (19). The second platform (19) and the second canopy (40) cooperate to enclose the portable patient support module (12, 112, 212) positioned on the second mattress (35) in a second isolation chamber (44).
