Title:
INFLATABLE LIFE RAFT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1983/001933
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
When an inflatable life raft is packed into a container, the raft is folded over with a tent (5) disposed inside, and binding means is then provided between mounting members (11) secured to adjacent positions of the outer periphery of confronting and superimposed annular air chambers. The binding means is broken or separated by the force of expansion of the air chambers, and is, for example, made of a breakable cord (13) and a mounting cord (14). When gas flows from gas cylinders (6) into the air chambers so that their force of expansion becomes higher than a predetermined strength, the binding means is broken and the life raft is deployed. Since the tent (5) is provided on the upper side and is unfolded at the same time, the raft can float on the sea surface in this state.
