Abstract:
A disc-shaped, two-stage output-type inflator is reduced in size.
An inflator has: an inflator case (12) which is configured from a closed-end cylindrical upper case (42) and a lower case (41), has an upper combustion chamber (62) and a lower combustion chamber (61) which are defined by a partition wall (14) and which respectively store gas generation agents (52, 51), and has upper gas ejection holes (72) and lower ejection holes (71) formed in peripheral walls (42U, 42L); a first inner tube member (21) which stores a transfer charge (91) for combusting the gas generation agent (51) within the lower combustion chamber (61); a second inner tube member (22) which has an upper end section (22B) penetrating through the partition wall (14), is located below the upper combustion chamber (62), and stores a transfer charge (92) for combusting the gas generation agent (52) within the upper combustion chamber (62); a first ignition device (31) for igniting the transfer charge (91) within the first tube member (21); and a second ignition device (32) for igniting the transfer charge (92) within the second tube member (22).
