Abstract:
This inflator (1) is provided with: a housing (10) that forms a combustion space (15) filled therewithin with a gas generant (17); a head pipe that forms a head-side space to which a discharge hole (19) that discharges gas generated in the combustion space (15) of the housing (10) is provided; and a filter (16) that is housed in a manner so as to partition the head-side space and the combustion space (15). The inflator (1) is further provided with a partition plate (30) that is provided between the combustion space (15) and the filter (16) and to which a first gas-passing section and a second gas-passing section have been formed. When the pressure of the gas generated in the combustion space (15) is no greater than a set pressure, the partition plate (30) allows passage of the gas to the filter (16) side only from the first gas-passing section, and when the pressure of the gas generated in the combustion space (15) exceeds the set pressure, allows passage of the gas to the filter (16) side from the first gas-passing section and the second gas-passing section, thus reducing the temperature of the discharged gas.
