Abstract:
Provided is an engineering tool (10) which is executed by a computer which is connected to one or more devices. The engineering tool (10) comprises information definition files (15) which are associated with the devices, each file further comprising at least: a communication information file element (28) which defines an acquisition sequence of acquiring information from the device; and a graph information file element (21) which defines a display sequence of displaying upon a display device the information which has been acquired according to the acquisition sequence. The engineering tool (10) causes the computer to execute: an information acquisition step of acquiring the information according to the acquisition sequence which has been defined by the communication information file element (28) of the information definition file (15); and a display step of displaying upon the display device the information which has been acquired in the information acquisition step, according to the display sequence which has been defined by the graph information file element (21).
