　Provided are an information medium reading apparatus, and a method for reading an information medium, capable of processing an image data reading system and a magnetic data reading system and capable of deterring enlargement of the circuit scale and enlargement of the apparatus. The present invention is provided with: a magnetic head (23) for reading magnetic data on an information medium (MC) and outputting an analog magnetic signal; image sensors (24, 25) for capturing an image of the information medium (MC) and outputting an analog image signal; an analog front end unit (32) having an analog/digital (A/D) conversion function for setting, as a bottom voltage, a voltage corresponding to a black level reference voltage when reading an image, and within a prescribed conversion voltage range, converting the analog signal into a digital signal; and a level adjustment unit (29) for adding a bias voltage corresponding to the center value in the prescribed conversion voltage range to the voltage level of the analog magnetic signal and adjusting the level, the analog magnetic signal the level of which was adjusted using the level adjustment unit (29) being inputted into the analog front end unit (32) and A/D-converted from an analog signal to a digital signal.
