Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing method with high processing performance. [Solution] The present invention pertains to an information processing apparatus having an accelerator mounted thereon for performing a prescribed process on data and an information processing method implemented in the information processing apparatus, wherein: the information processing apparatus is provided with a storage device which stores and saves data and a host control unit which requests the accelerator to execute a prescribed process included in a task requested from the outside; data is compressed and stored in the storage device; and the accelerator reads data to be processed among the data stored in the storage device in response to the request from the host control unit, and executes a prescribed process on the data while uncompressing the read data.
