Abstract:

An information processing apparatus comprises a display unit that displays an object; a contact detecting unit that can detect a plurality of contact points on the display unit; and a control unit that uses the contact detecting unit to control the object displayed on the display unit such that the object can be shifted. When the control unit uses the contact detecting unit to detect a contact onto the display area of the object displayed on the display unit, further detect a contact onto an active area on the display screen except the display area of the object, and further detect a shift instruction for the object, the control unit controls the object such that the object can be shifted within the active area. In this way, the contact detecting unit that can detect a plurality of contact points is used to allow users to perform their intuitive operations.
