Abstract:
A landmark characteristic detection/location measurement unit 17 of an in-vehicle device 1 calculates a landmark measurement location on the basis of the output signal from an external sensor 12 such as a lidar 2 for measuring a landmark Ltag, which is a peripheral physical object. A landmark location estimation unit 16 calculates an estimated landmark location on the basis of the landmark information stored in a feature-enhanced map DB 10. In addition, a reliability determination unit 18 determines the reliability R, on the basis of the difference change amount dD(t) between the difference D(t-1) between the landmark measurement location and the landmark estimation location at a previous time t-1 and the difference D(t) between the landmark measurement location and the landmark estimation location at the current time t. The reliability determination unit 18 also outputs information about the determined reliability R to a vehicle location estimation unit 19.
