Abstract:
An information processing device for quickly avoiding a danger such as collision with
an obstacle by changing an alarm given to the user according to the type of the obstacle
or the position relation, a method for controlling information processing device,
a control program, and an information recording medium where the control program
is recorded. An information processing device provided to a mobile object and
adapted for processing information for giving an alarm information to the user
comprises a storage unit for storing image information on one or more obstacles
in advance and type information representing the types of the obstacles, a camera
for capturing information on images showing the outside of the moving object,
an image recognizing unit (4) for comparing the captured image information with
the image information on the stored obstacles and computing direction information
representing the direction in which the obstacle is present by using the moving
object as a reference if it is judged that an obstacle is present, and an alarm generating
unit (5) for localizing alarm information as a sound image according to the computed
direction information and the type information on the obstacle.
